Wi-Fi RF - Customer Support Engineer

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

 

MosChip is a semiconductor and embedded system design company with a focus on Embedded, Turnkey ASICs, Mixed Signal IP, Semiconductor & Product Engineering and IoT solutions catering to Aerospace & Defence, Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Medical and Networking & Telecommunications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Front line support to actively pursue Wi-Fi RF performance issues reported by customers or test teams and triage information provided to gain clarity for deeper investigation
  • Interacting proactively with customers, and test teams, who report issues to get enough details to define the problem and raising internal bugs for investigation
  • Develop a good understanding of the internal debug tools and do preliminary analysis based on the information provided.
  • Analyze and investigate real time Radio issues and fix/optimize performance issues.
  • Work closely with development teams and also other support teams to help us understand and investigate from wider perspective as applicable
  • Contribute in writing technical investigation reports on specific issues
  • Contribute to the writing of low level embedded code to exercise chip functionality
  • Investigate real time radio issues and suggest performance improvements

 

Required Skills :

  • Understanding of the basic architecture, design and implementation of radio firmware features.
  • Experience in using test equipment like litepoint/spectrum analyzers for radio debug.
  • Understanding of Wi-Fi RF parameters, Test requirements and Radio calibrations routines.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and willing to pursue investigations to issues.
  • Experience in customer support activities.
  • Effective team player and good communicator.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi 802.11 PHY specifications and protocols.
  • Competency in MATLAB and its use in a test environment.
  • Ability to take ownership of problems, make fixes and drive investigations to conclusion.
  • Familiarity with tracking and revision control systems (e.g. JIRA and Git).
  • Experience in using Wireshark sniffer tool and analyzing sniffer logs.
